This week I have been listening to Cara Dillon singing Black is the Colour. She is an incredible Northern-Irish Folk singer, now based in the UK with her husband Sam Lakeman. We have been to see them a number of times and I love her voice. I also love their arrangements of traditional folk tunes, and once I have heard their version of a song I can never find a version by someone else that can match it. Sam is an accomplished piano player as well as guitarist (and probably a few other instruments), Cara plays violin, whistle on top and having a stunning voice.
This version was recorded with the Ulster Orchestra.
